It makes me sad when people disregard deep friendships and talk about how romance is the only thing that matters (be it between living people or characters), because nothing is stronger than romance.
I pity these people. I pity people who have never been in a friendship that, while purely platonic, is so deep that it does feel like being “in love.” There is something about it that is so special and irreplaceable that I can only determine that people who find friendship to be lesser or lacking in some way haven’t ever experienced it to that degree. Oh, romance is beautiful and incredible in its own way, but there is something glorious about a friendship so deep you feel it to your core, something about standing next to another person and knowing that they are a part of you as deeply as you are a part of them, that cannot be found anywhere else.
